About

I build the whole thing — the interface, the API, and the data underneath. For the last five years I've owned the entire web estate at Corston, and I'm the only engineer on most of it, which means I do the full loop: work out what's worth building, spec it, ship it, then change it based on what people actually do rather than what the spec said they would.

I was an early adopter of agent‑assisted engineering and now spend more of my time on the guardrails than on the code itself — agentic review and triage pipelines, scheduled agents, and MCP integrations across the tools my team already uses. E‑commerce is my domain depth rather than my ceiling: Shopify, multi‑market operations, and ERP integration are where I learned what production actually costs.

Bespoke product configurator

A multi-step plate and switch builder with live preview, custom engraving through a server-side render API, cart bundling via Shopify Functions, and manufacturing data handed off to NetSuite. Taken from a blank editor to production revenue, then changed repeatedly on what customers actually did with it.

Next.js App Router and React Server Components on Postgres, built and run as its only engineer. Hosts a trade quote builder handling ~200 quotes a month with PDF export, a contracts app, and automated media pipelines moving assets between the DAM and Shopify.

  1. Frontend Web Developer

    Corston Architectural Detail — Malmesbury, UK · Aug 2021–Present

    • Designed and built the company's internal application platform in Next.js (App Router, React Server Components, TypeScript, Postgres) as its only engineer — a trade quote builder handling ~200 quotes/month, a contracts app, and automated media pipelines.
    • Took a customer-facing bespoke product configurator from 0→1: multi-step builder with live preview, custom engraving via a server-side render API, cart bundling through Shopify Functions, and manufacturing data handed off to NetSuite.
    • Owned the web estate across four international storefronts through roughly 10× growth in annual revenue and a 4× increase in order volume.
    • Led the consolidation of 12 localised European storefronts into a single Shopify Markets store over ~3 months: per-market pricing and VAT, metafield-driven content, redirect mapping, and translations across 12 languages.
    • Adopted AI-agent engineering workflows early and built the guardrails around them: agentic review and triage pipelines, scheduled cloud agents, and MCP integrations.
    • Audited and fixed security issues in customer-facing tooling, including access-control and authentication hardening.
    • Own the Shopify ↔ NetSuite integration via Celigo, and cut total blocking time by ~90% and layout shift to zero on the core product template.
    • Designed the team's take-home exercise (AI tooling permitted by design), screened ~30 applicants, and ran interviews for the front-end hire.

    • Supported and extended client sites on Magento 2, Magento 1, WordPress, and Shopify: bug fixes, performance work, and new feature builds.
    • Implemented a backup strategy that materially reduced data-loss exposure across client sites.
    • Worked directly with clients to scope and deliver tailored solutions.

    • Built client websites with PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, jQuery, and WordPress on Ubuntu, working across the full development lifecycle.
